Happy Thanksgiving!!

During this time of year, I think most people reflect on all of the things in life they may be thankful for. I want to suggest that as we look around at our families and especially our children; that we make a point of being thankful everyday.

I hope everyone enjoys their turkey day and your families, whether they are near or far.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Mom Spot movie review

I think it's been awhile since I've done a review, but here goes.

Little one and I saw Megamind on Sunday. We went with a couple of his friends and another mom. I definitely will give this movie TWO THUMBS UP!!!

I don't know if the 7 years olds go the messages in the movie but there were messages to get. I didn't know much about the movie going in but was pleasantly surprised.

I won't give away too many details and spoil it for others but here are a couple of lessons I picked up on in the movie:

1. It's ok to be different
2. We shouldn't treat a person different because they look differently
3. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and
4. Don't judge a book by it's cover (which probably is similar to #2)
5. Good will usually win over evil

Go see this movie if you haven't already. It's really cute and a good family flick.

Report cards...

Report cards went home last Friday and I'm so proud of the little one! He made honor roll with 5 A's and 1 B!!!!!!!!!! I knew he'd do well but I'm still very happy for him.

Friday was a very busy day for us. There was an all day field trip that was pretty fun. They went to this place where they learned about old world FL life. They made candles, soap, cane syrup, rope, butter and learned alot of other interesting facts.

After school we were on to the skating party (I was pooped and was hoping he wouldn't want to go). Needless to say, all I could do was lay down on the couch when we got home!

Saturday morning was soccer and the team won (although everyone agrees it was a tie, the ref said it was a win)!! My son's friend came over in the afternoon and spent the night. The boys had a blast. That was our first time having anyone sleepover and I definitely noticed my son having some issues with sharing his space.

So that's our lives right now.

Very late Halloween update...

Halloween was a fun night! Son and myself went to his friends house to trick or treat on Sunday evening. We got there a little early so the kids could play and eat and the adults also had some snacks and wine (Margarita for me!)

We let the boys do a few houses by themselves while we sat outside. That was cute because they felt like big boys going alone! We got going about 6:30 or so and did a couple of blocks.

The neighborhood was FULL of trick or treaters, which was cool and I was very surprised by how much the candy the boys got! We were only out about an hour/hour and a half and came home with a bag of candy.

We got home around 9:30 and got ready for bed. It was nice to mingle with adults and the kids to have fun also.
