Report card day and other school stuff

Yesterday was report card day and ds did pretty good. He didn't make the honor roll this time like last because he got a C in reading :( I guess we're just going to have to work harder but I'm still proud of him!

Thursday the 1st graders went on their first field trip of the year. They rode a school bus to the science center which is only about 10 minutes from the school. I was one of the parents that went along and it was the funniest thing. Our school doesn't provide bussing so most of these kids had never been on a school bus and they acted like it was the greatest thing in the world...LOL!

Countdown to me going back to work...3 business days...ugh...

Back to work

Well after 17 months of living my dream of being a SAHM, I'm going back to work. It's very bittersweet for me. I got laid off September 2008 and have been looking for work ever since. During that time I've truly enjoyed being available at any time for my son.

I got the job offer on Friday and I start next Thursday, March 4th. Unfortunately, the hours won't allow me to take or pick the little one up from school so I'm working out all of those details now. He's a bit sad about me not being able to take/pick him up but I pray we'll both work through it and transition well.

So anyway, that's my latest news. Wish me luck!

Random Mom thoughts

Not much going on here. DS is out of school today and hanging out with dad. Yesterday (Valentine's Day), was pretty uneventful. We went to the closing day for soccer and ds got his new trophy. YAY!! I enjoy soccer season. We also went and spent some time with my mom in the evening.

I'd love to post some new pics but not sure what's going on because when I connect my camera to the computer, nothing happens. So I've given up for now.

Anyway, happy Monday.

February already?

A new month already. I'm not ready for this year to go by as quickly as last year did. I just want to enjoy my new 7 yr old...LOL!

Guess what?....I have a date Friday night! I'm not sure how to act or what I'll talk about because I've been in "mom mode" for 7 yrs and now I'm expected to switch to 'woman mode.' Hope I can make the switch and have some grown up fun.

The little person is doing well. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to help him with time management in class. He often comes home with incomplete classwork that has to be done as homework. His teacher says he just moves at his own pace.....
Guess all I can do is continue working with him.
